Once again...you never know what lies in North American basements.
It wasn't exactly a treasured family heirloom.
A hockey stick signed by a bunch of guys time had all but forgotten, resting quietly in the basement of a Toronto home.
It's 88 year-old owner wasn't tuned in to the memorabilia market.
"I had no idea it would be of any value at all," said Jeanne Dodwell.
It definitely is.
A one-of-a-kind autographed hockey stick from a team of Canadian amateurs that won the gold medal at the 1924 Olympic games has generated quite the story, one told in the Toronto Star.
