2010 NBA Finals Jersey Auction Begins

The NBA & the MeiGray Group’s  fourth annual NBA Finals jersey auction is underway.

The gold jerseys worn by each member of the Western Conference Champion   Los Angeles Lakers and the green shirts worn in Game One by the Eastern Conference Champion Boston Celtics are up for bid.

MeiGray’s contract with the NBA allows the company to sell jerseys and selected memorabilia from NBA league events.

Kobe Bryant’s familiar #24 jersey leads the bidding thus far, having topped $3260.  Celtics’ star Kevin Garnett’s #5 is at $1040 with Paul Pierce ($770), Pau Gasol ($720) and Rajon Rondo ($698) rounding out the top five.

Last year, Bryant’s Game One jersey sold for $35,270.

In 2008, the Game One jersey sales for both the Lakers and Celtics topped $112,000.

The current jersey auction runs through June 22.

The auction of jerseys from Game Three of the Finals will take place later this month.
